A highly sought-after right-handed pitcher, Beede was initially drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the first round (21st overall) of the 2011 MLB Draft, but opted to attend Vanderbilt. Following his decorated collegiate career, he was drafted again in the first round (14th overall) of the 2014 MLB Draft by the San Francisco Giants, securing a significant $2.6 million signing bonus. Beede’s professional journey commenced in 2014 within the San Francisco Giants organization’s minor league system, where he consistently advanced through affiliates including the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, San Jose Giants, and Richmond Flying Squirrels.
