The multi-talented and creative Tyrone Smith is a musician, producer, composer, entrepreneur, civil rights activist, and positive perspectives enthusiast. Aside from being a prolific and acclaimed solo artist he has worked as a musician and producer for many incredible fellow artists, including Al Jarreau, Reggie Workman, Joss Stone, Erykah Badu, and Lonnie Plaxico. He also runs his own production company, T’s Groove Inc.
Born and raised in Dallas, Smith was surrounded by a musically talented family and by the time he was 11-years-old he was playing piano, organ, and the saxophone. He was heavily influenced by gospel and R&B and then later discovered rock, jazz, funk, and Hip-Hop. He attended the Booker T Washington High School of the Visual and Performing Arts where he honed his skills and following graduation he moved to New York to study Jazz and Contemporary Music at The New School. He signed a record deal with 18th and Vine Records in 2009, and released his debut album, Playing It By Ear, in 2010.
Smith regularly connects with his close to a million followers and fans through Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter, posting pictures and videos about his life around music.
