Tyus Bowser has established a professional football career in the NFL, known for his defensive capabilities and continued community involvement. After being selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft as the 47th overall pick, Tyus Bowser signed a four-year contract worth $5.57 million. Prior to his professional debut, Bowser was a standout defensive player for the University of Houston Cougars from 2013 to 2016. He made his collegiate debut in 2013, registering two tackles and recording his first two collegiate sacks and an interception against Rice in his freshman year.
Throughout his college career, Bowser accumulated 137 tackles and 22.5 sacks, establishing a strong foundation for his NFL career. In his rookie NFL season, Bowser debuted against the Cincinnati Bengals and recorded his first professional interception against the Cleveland Browns. He continued to build on this success, showcasing consistent defensive contributions for the Ravens. During the 2019 season, he scored a pivotal 33-yard fumble return touchdown against the Bengals and delivered a two-sack performance against the Houston Texans.
In January 2022, Bowser faced a torn Achilles, leading to his placement on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. After further injury setbacks in 2023, he was released by the Ravens in March 2024.
