In 2013, he was named Sporting News Men’s College Basketball Player of the Year, Co-NABC Defensive Player of the Year, and a first-team All-American selection. His immediate professional impact was recognized with an NBA All-Rookie First Team selection in 2014.

While navigating his recovery and ongoing NBA commitments, he further expanded his musical portfolio, releasing the afrobeats-inspired EP ‘TUNDE’ in 2023.
