Vinay Rana, known professionally as Vin Rana, was born on December 16, 1986, in Delhi, India. He completed his schooling in Delhi and earned a Bachelor’s of Technology degree before embarking on a career in entertainment. Rana initially gained recognition as a model before transitioning into acting, a move that marked a pivotal point in his career despite reportedly having to give up his prior business. His debut on television screens occurred in 2013, solidifying his presence in the Indian television industry.
Rana’s acting journey began notably in September 2013 with the Star Plus series “Mahabharat,” where he portrayed Nakul, one of the five Pandava brothers, a role he continued until 2014. Following this, he appeared in “Ek Hasina Thi” as Karan Seth in 2014. He further established his career with the role of Malay Mittal in “Vishkanya Ek Anokhi Prem Kahani” from 2015 to 2016. A significant career milestone was his portrayal of Purab Khanna in Zee TV’s “Kumkum Bhagya” from 2015 to 2019, a role he also reprised in the spin-off series “Kundali Bhagya” from 2017 to 2024 for one episode. His career also extended to Indonesian shows, including “Pesbukers,” when he worked there in late 2014 and 2015.
More recently, Rana has continued to expand his acting portfolio. In 2019, he took on the role of Kapil Salgaonkar in “Kavach 2: Mahashivratri.” He also ventured into web series, playing Oscar Mathews in ZEE5’s “Poison 2” and Abeer Singh in “Jamai 2.0.” In 2023, he made an appearance in the film “Shehzada” as Vikrant Paul.
