Vincent Rodriguez Iii

Vincent Rodriguez III was born on August 10, 1982, in San Francisco, California, and grew up in Daly City. He is of Filipino, Spanish, and Chinese descent. He graduated from the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts in 2003, where he trained. In 2005, he relocated to New York City, participating in regional theatre productions and teaching at drama schools. His early television work included minor roles in “The Onion News Network” and “Hostages.” He is also trained in martial arts.

Rodriguez achieved wider recognition in 2015 with his breakthrough role as Josh Chan, the romantic lead in The CW’s comedy-drama series “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” which earned him a series regular position over 60 episodes until 2019. During this period, he also provided assistant choreography for one episode of the series in 2017. He expanded his filmography with roles in “Designated Survivor” (2017) as Congressman Saldua and in “Insatiable” (2019) as Detective Rudy Cruz. His voice acting career also gained momentum, lending his voice to projects such as “White Snake” (2019) and “Ne Zha” (2020) as Li Jung.

His career continued with significant voice roles, including Ansel Beauregard in “I Heart Arlo” (2021) and the voice of Raiden in the video game “Mortal Kombat 1” (2023). He also featured in the Amazon series “With Love” from 2021 to 2023 as Henry Cruz. In 2023, he appeared in “Christmas on Cherry Lane” for The Hallmark Channel, further demonstrating his range across different entertainment mediums. Upcoming projects include “Kindergarten: The Musical” (2025) and “Dune: Awakening” (2025), playing Val Rizal and The Guide (voice) respectively.
