Walter Wallberg was born on March 24, 2000, in Bollnäs, Sweden. He later resided in Gävleborg, Sweden. Wallberg began his professional freestyle skiing career in his late teens. He quickly established himself in the sport, competing in his first Winter Olympics at PyeongChang 2018. During this event, he participated in the Men’s Moguls Qualification rounds. This early Olympic appearance marked his entry into elite-level freestyle skiing.
Wallberg’s career progressed significantly, leading to his major breakthrough at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. There, he competed in the men’s moguls event and secured a gold medal with a score of 83.23, demonstrating his skill and precision on the Olympic stage. Following his Olympic success, Wallberg continued to compete at a high level. In 2023, he earned a silver medal in Dual Moguls and a bronze medal in Moguls at the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships in Bakuriani.
His continued performance has ensured his presence in future high-stakes events, including securing a ticket to the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Wallberg has also developed a business presence, operating as a mogul skier and business owner based in Åre, Sweden. His consistent performance and medal achievements have solidified his position as a prominent athlete in freestyle skiing.
