Wayne Knight

Wayne Knight is an accomplished actor renowned for his memorable roles across television, film, and voice acting. After making his Broadway debut in the comedy Gemini in 1979, Wayne Knight established himself as a versatile character actor across stage, film, and television. Having previously become a professional actor and earning his Equity card following a two-year internship with the Barter Theatre company, Knight quickly transitioned to screen work. He appeared in films such as Dirty Dancing (1987) and JFK (1991), before taking on significant roles as one of the detectives in Basic Instinct (1992) and the iconic Dennis Nedry in Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster Jurassic Park (1993), for which he received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Knight achieved widespread recognition for his memorable television roles, most notably as the mailman ‘Newman,’ the primary antagonist to the main character in the acclaimed series Seinfeld (1992–1998). Concurrently, he portrayed Officer Don Orville, a recurring character, in the NBC sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun (1996–2001), earning a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for his work.
