Wesley Vissers was born in Oosterhout, Netherlands, in May 1993. He began weightlifting at the age of 14, drawing inspiration from his father. This early start set the foundation for a career in bodybuilding. He furthered his understanding of the physical form and dietary requirements by studying Nutrition & Dietetics at HAN University of Applied Sciences. Vissers’ academic background, combined with his dedication to the sport, underpinned his journey from amateur competitions to professional bodybuilding.
Vissers’ amateur career saw him achieve consistent success. His first competitive appearance was at the 2013 Flexcup, where he secured first place in the junior division. He continued this trajectory, winning the open division of the same event in 2014, and taking first in the junior division at the 2014 Juliette Bergmann Grand Prix. After a brief hiatus, he returned to the stage in 2016, placing fifth in the junior division at the European Arnold Classic. Dominant performances followed, including another first place in the junior division at the 2016 Juliette Bergman Grand Prix and first overall in the open division of the 2017 Juliette Bergman Grand Prix. His amateur career culminated in 2017 when he earned his IFBB pro card by winning the classic division of the Royal London Pro qualifier.
Transitioning to professional bodybuilding, Vissers made his IFBB professional debut at the 2018 Chicago Pro in the United States, where he secured first place in the classic division, earning an invitation to the 2018 Mr. Olympia. Throughout his professional career, he has consistently competed at high levels, winning the IFBB Romania Pro in 2019, the IFBB Poland Pro in 2021, and the IFBB France Pro in 2022. A significant achievement in his career includes his double victory at the Arnold Classic, winning both the Ohio and UK competitions for Classic Physique in 2024. He has also improved his standings at the Mr. Olympia competition over the years, demonstrating consistent career progression and dedication to his craft. Vissers further established the Vintage Genetics brand, offering bodybuilding-inspired apparel and coaching, and launched his own supplement line, Gladiator Sports Pro, in 2019.
