Benjamin Isaac Hoffman, known professionally as Wheeler Walker Jr., is an American comedian, actor, writer, and musician. Born in Lexington, Kentucky, he is the older brother of Scott Hoffman, also known as Babydaddy from the Scissor Sisters. Hoffman attended Tulane University and later graduated from the University of Kentucky. His career began in comedy, where he created and hosted “The Ben Show” for Comedy Central in 2013. He also contributed as a writer for various television programs, including “Sports Show with Norm Macdonald,” “MTV Video Music Awards,” “Archer,” and “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” In addition to writing, Hoffman has appeared in acting roles in shows such as “Arrested Development,” “New Girl,” and “Drunk History.” In 2020, he created, wrote, and executive produced the Netflix adult animated series “Hoops,” where he also provided voice talent.

Hoffman developed the character of Wheeler Walker Jr. as an alter ego in the country music scene. He debuted an early version of this satirical country artist on a skit for “The Ben Show” in 2013, performing “Eatin’ Pussy, Kickin’ Ass.” His first album as Wheeler Walker Jr., “Redneck Shit,” was released in 2016 through Thirty Tigers and Pepper Hill Records. Produced by Dave Cobb, the album premiered on PornHub and achieved significant commercial success, debuting at number nine on the Billboard Hot Country Albums chart and number one on the Billboard Top Comedy Albums chart. This made it the first album in over a decade to simultaneously debut in the top ten of both charts. He has continued to release music under the Wheeler Walker Jr. persona, with albums such as “Ol’ Wheeler” (2017), “WW III” (2018), “Sex, Drugs & Country Music” (2022), and “Ram” (2023), many of which have topped comedy and country charts.

Throughout his musical career, Hoffman has been outspoken about the character’s purpose, using Wheeler Walker Jr. as a platform to critique the modern country music industry, particularly the bro-country subgenre, and express his views on censorship and bias within music. He has toured extensively across the United States and appeared on numerous podcasts, including “The Joe Rogan Experience” and “Your Mom’s House.” In 2018, he toured with Kid Rock and Brantley Gilbert on the Red Blooded Rock n Roll Redneck Extravaganza Tour. In 2022, he headlined the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, selling out the venue and setting records for merchandise and alcohol sales.
