Born in Hollywood, California, Lex Lang began performing at the age of seven, hosting a radio show and serving as master of ceremonies for Seagram’s National Comedy Competition. During his college years, he developed his stage presence as a stand-up comedian and impressionist, performing at well-known venues such as The Comedy Store and The Improv alongside figures like Jim Carrey, Richard Belzer, and David Spade. He also pursued classical training, performing with the Royal London Shakespeare Theatre Company in a summer stock production of “Two Gentlemen of Verona” under the direction of John Houseman. After returning to Hollywood to study music at The Musician’s Institute, where he became proficient in guitar, bass, and piano, Lang transitioned into a prolific career in voice acting and directing, which he began in 1996.
Throughout his career, Lex Lang has lent his voice to over 400 characters in diverse productions, including animated series, video games, anime, and movie trailers. He is recognized for roles such as Doctor Neo Cortex in the “Crash Bandicoot” franchise, Suguru Geto in “Jujutsu Kaisen,” Ecliptor in “Power Rangers in Space,” and Goemon Ishikawa XIII in “Lupin the Third.” His work as a voice director is also extensive, having guided voice actors for major clients including Cartoon Network, Sony, HBO, and Warner Brothers. In 2013, he became the voice of The Guy’s Choice Awards on Spike TV and the voice for UFC promos on Fox, further solidifying his presence in various media.
Beyond his entertainment career, Lang is involved in philanthropy. In 1998, he co-founded The Love Planet Foundation with his wife, Sandy Fox, aiming to educate children on environmental topics like recycling and planet preservation. The couple also launched H2Om Water with Intention in 2006, an award-winning bottled spring water company focused on positive thinking and environmental consciousness. Lang’s versatility and commitment extend to his personal interests, which include songwriting, poker, and advocating for animal welfare.
