Star of the hit ABC thriller series Quantico, Yasmine Al Massri is a human rights activist, actor, dancer, and video artist. She is best known for her roles in the movie Caramel in 2007 and on Quantico in 2015.
Massri was born to a Palestinian father and an Egyptian mother in Beirut, Lebanon and is a dual citizen of France and the United States. She relocated to Paris to live and study, graduating from the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in 2007 and beginning her career as a dancer with the Souraya Baghdadi dance company in 2008. She made her big screen debut in Nadine Labaki’s critically acclaimed Lebanese LGBT comedy-drama Caramel. The film premiered at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival, and she won the Best Actress Award at the 2007 Abu Dhabi Film Festival for Caramel, as well as a Best Actress nomination at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards that same year. She went on to star in the international films Al-mor wa al rumman, Al Juma Al Akheira, and Miral.
Massri made her American television debut in 2014, playing alongside John Malkovich in the NBC drama series Crossbones. In 2015, she was cast as identical twins Nimah and Raina Amin in the ABC thriller Quantico, alongside Priyanka Chopra and Aunjanue Ellis. Massri became a citizen of the United States in May 2016. In 2020, she voiced the character Morana on Castlevania, a Netflix original adult animated dark fantasy action series.
