The impressive young artistic gymnast Yul Moldauer is a World Championships medalist, a 5x Pan American Championships medalist, a 3x all-around FIG World Cup champion, and a 10x National Champion. He also represented the United States at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He was named 2018 Male Athlete of the Year by USA Gymnastics.
Born in South Korea and raised in the United States after he was adopted, Moldauer began gymnastics at the age of seven. He was competing in the US National Championships by the time he was 17, winning the 2014 junior title. In 2015 he won Gold in the 18-year-old age division at the Junior Olympic National Championships, and the following year he won his first NCAA all-around title.
Moldauer started his senior career in 2017, and at his first World Championships he won Bronze for the floor exercise. He kept winning national and State events during his time at the University of Oklahoma, and after graduating in 2020, he secured a spot on the US Team to attended the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He then had a hugely successful time at the 2022 Pan American Championships, winning five medals: three individual Golds, and a Silver, as well as Team Gold.
