Giarnni Regini- Moran

Giarnni Regini-Moran was born on August 2, 1998, in Great Yarmouth, England. He began his gymnastics journey at the age of three, participating in his first session, and started competing in 2004. His introduction to the sport stemmed from his high energy levels as a child, finding an early passion for the physical and mental demands of gymnastics. He quickly progressed through junior levels, demonstrating significant potential and commitment to the sport from a young age. His early training took place at the Europa Centre in Crayford, later moving to Pegasus Gymnastics Club where he is coached by Ionut Trandaburu.

Regini-Moran’s junior career included several notable achievements. In 2014, he secured the British Junior all-around title for under 16s. The same year, he contributed to Great Britain’s gold medal win at the European Junior Championships, where he also claimed individual gold on floor exercise. A significant milestone for his junior career was at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China, where he won gold in the all-around competition, alongside two gold medals on vault and floor, and two bronze medals on parallel bars and high bar. These early successes established him as a prominent figure in junior artistic gymnastics.

His transition to senior competition was marked by significant challenges and continued triumphs. In July 2016, Regini-Moran sustained a serious knee injury, rupturing multiple ligaments and fracturing his tibia, which required extensive reconstructive surgery and a year-long recovery. Despite this setback and a subsequent ankle fracture, he returned to competitive action in mid-2018. His resilience led to a successful comeback in 2022, where he earned a gold medal at the World Championships on floor exercise, a bronze in the team event, team gold at the European Championships, and multiple medals at the Commonwealth Games, including team gold, two silvers, and a bronze. His journey has been characterized by overcoming adversity to achieve high-level performance in artistic gymnastics.
