Continuing an ongoing series of recipes cooked up for Britain’s premier men’s magazine this year, Ruby Bhogal is demonstrating exactly why she became the people’s favourite contestant on Channel 4’s Great British Bake Off last summer, where she showcased her effortless charm and astonishing talent for baking and almost snatched the Bake Off crown. Proclaiming that “sun’s out, buns out, brownies in”, Ruby’s most recent recipe for GQ brings together a traditional favourite, the hot cross bun, with the gorgeous indulgence of a brownie. Using ground almonds instead of flour, these also make a brilliant gluten-free snack.
