Evan Giarrusso, professionally known as EVAN GIIA, hails from Hingham, Massachusetts, and is an alumna of Berklee College of Music, where she trained in opera singing. Her career in music officially commenced in 2016 with her debut single “Heat of the Moment,” a collaboration with music duo MEMBA. This track was quickly recognized, being selected as a single of the week by BBC Radio 1. Following this success, her second single, “Brave,” released in 2017, achieved recognition by being listed as the top single by Hype Machine. These early collaborations and releases established her presence in the electronic music scene.
Throughout her career, Evan Giia has consistently demonstrated her ability to blend genres and collaborate successfully with other artists. In 2018, she released “Westworld,” which became one of her most popular songs. The following year, she contributed vocals to MEMBA’s EP *Saga-II* on the track “Walls Down” and released her solo single “Sidelines.” She continued to release music in 2020 with singles “Switch Off” and “Focus,” the latter of which she also co-wrote. A significant milestone in 2020 was her collaboration with Gorgon City on the single “Burning,” which premiered on Billboard Dance and reached number 7 on the Billboard Dance Chart, maintaining a peak position for two weeks. She concluded 2020 with her solo release “tiny life” and performed numerous concerts alongside Odesza.
Evan Giia has also made a notable impact in various music festivals and secured a number-one hit. She performed at prominent festivals such as Coachella, Firefly, Bonnaroo, and CRSSD, and shared stages with artists like Odesza and Louis The Child. Her collaborative efforts continued into 2021 with projects like “In Motion” with Memba and Reo Cragun, and “Messin’ Me Up” with What So Not. A major achievement came in September 2022 when her collaboration with Dillon Francis and Illenium, “Don’t Let Me Let Go,” achieved the number one position on US Dance Radio, solidifying her standing within the electronic dance music community.
