Jelly Roll launched his music career in 2003, making a significant impact in hip-hop with his independent mixtapes and early collaborations. He initially sold projects such as ‘The Plain Shmear Tape’ and the ‘Gamblin’ on the White Boy’ series (2004-2011) directly to his fanbase. A notable early achievement was his 2010 collaboration with Lil Wyte, ‘Pop Another Pill,’ which garnered over 6.3 million YouTube views and subsequently led to the formation of the hip-hop group SNO. Throughout the 2010s, he continued to release numerous mixtapes and independent albums, collaborating with prominent artists including Struggle Jennings and Tech N9ne, while navigating early industry challenges such as legal action over his mixtape originally titled ‘Whiskey, Weed, & Waffle House.’ The 2020s marked a significant career progression for Jelly Roll as he transitioned into country and rock music, achieving widespread mainstream success.

The same year, he made his first international appearance at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario. Expanding his reach across media, Jelly Roll made his television debut in the drama series ‘Tulsa King’ in 2024. He was featured on Eminem’s twelfth album, ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce),’ on the track ‘Somebody Save Me’ in 2024, and released ‘Run It’ for the soundtrack of the film ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ that same year.

His tenth studio album, ‘Beautifully Broken,’ was released in 2024, and he showcased his dynamic performance on ‘Saturday Night Live’s’ 50th season. Looking ahead, his collaboration with Brandon Lake, ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah,’ secured ‘Song of the Year’ at the K-Love Fan Awards in 2025, underscoring his continued impact.
