Killer Mike, born Michael Santiago Render, is an American rapper, singer, and activist who uses his platform to champion social justice, economic empowerment, and community development. After securing a Grammy Award in 2002 for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for his feature on Outkast’s hit single ‘The Whole World,’ Killer Mike made his recording debut on Outkast’s critically acclaimed 2000 album ‘Stankonia’. He continued this momentum by releasing his debut solo album, ‘Monster’, in 2003, which peaked at number ten on the Billboard 200. The album featured the lead single ‘A.D.I.D.A.S.’, which charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 60, followed by the successful collaboration ‘Never Scared’ with Bone Crusher and T.I.
Mike’s impactful work has earned significant accolades, including the inaugural Billboard Change Maker Award in 2020 and an Emmy Award in 2022 for his PBS interview program ‘Love & Respect’. In 2023, he released his highly autobiographical solo album ‘Michael’, which went on to earn him three Grammy Awards in 2024: Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Song for ‘Scientists & Engineers’. Expanding his artistic explorations, he released ‘Songs for Sinners & Saints’ in 2024 with his gospel group, Michael & The Mighty Midnight Revival.
