Safeplanet is a Thai indie-pop trio, led by the charismatic main vocalist and guitarist, Thitiphat “A” Arthachinua, whose music blends guitar pop with a DIY ethic, standing in contrast to mainstream styles. The name “Safeplanet” reflects their desire for a secure zone where they can comfortably create and perform. Thitiphat, a graduate of Silpakorn University, formed the band alongside Aphiwich “Doi” Khamfoo, the drummer, and Chayapan “Yee” Chantranuson, the bassist, both students of jazz at Mahidol University.
Originally, Thitiphat and Doi were members of the band Shadow Flare and later served as backups for Jelly Rocket, before founding Safeplanet. Yee joined the duo, adding depth to their sound. Their debut single, “Klong Dam,” released in 2016, garnered attention, followed by hits like “Khamtop” and “Kot Khwam Chep Cham” from their album “Safeboys.”
In July 2019, Safeplanet held their inaugural concert, the “Safeplanet Neonplanet Concert,” at Montri Studio, marking a milestone in their journey. Their growth culminated in the release of their second album, “Cap, Capo, Cigarettes & Beer,” which led to their first arena-scale performance at Thunderdome Stadium in Muang Thong Thani. The concert, named “Bon Voyage” after the album’s opening track, celebrated their eight-year musical odyssey.
Safeplanet remains a self-contained indie-pop force, crafting music that resonates with audiences seeking sincerity and authenticity in sound and message. Their commitment to their craft and their fans ensures a bright future in Thailand’s vibrant music scene.
