Adam Buxton

Adam Offord Buxton was born on June 7, 1969, in Hammersmith, London, England. His early life involved education at Windlesham House School and Westminster School, where he became friends with Joe Cornish and Louis Theroux. He briefly attended the University of Warwick before pursuing sculpture at Cheltenham College of Art. Buxton began his career in television on Channel 4’s ‘Takeover TV’ in 1995, and shortly after, he formed the comedy duo Adam and Joe with Joe Cornish. Their collaboration led to ‘The Adam and Joe Show,’ which aired on Channel 4 from 1996 to 2001, defining a period of inventive and humorous television. This show featured unique segments like toy-themed parodies and ‘Baaad Dad’ segments involving his father, Nigel Buxton. The duo also expanded into radio with shows on Xfm and BBC Radio 6 Music, earning a Silver Sony Award in 2012 for Best Entertainment Programme.

Following his successful partnership, Buxton transitioned to significant solo work, notably building a prominent presence in podcasting. Since 2015, he has hosted ‘The Adam Buxton Podcast,’ which features interviews with notable cultural figures, including musicians, authors, and comedians.
