Katie Archibald

Born on March 12, 1994, in Chertsey, Surrey, England, Katie Archibald embarked on her cycling journey relatively late, beginning competitively in 2011 on grass track and transitioning to hard track in 2012. After initially working in her family’s business, she was recruited into British Cycling’s Olympic Development Academy in November 2013, marking a significant turning point in her career. Her dedication quickly led to a successful debut for Great Britain at the 2013 European Track Championships, where she secured a gold medal in the team pursuit, breaking world records in the process. This early success established Archibald as a formidable talent in endurance track cycling.

Archibald’s career advanced rapidly with numerous achievements on both national and international stages. She became Scotland’s first female track cycling world champion in 2014 as part of the team pursuit squad.
