Football striker coach Allan Russell is known as the “man who taught England how to score again.” Renowned for re-shaping the way footballers move and perform on the field, Russell’s unique coaching style has taken the England team to a whole new level. Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Russell established himself as a standout midfielder and forward player. Throughout his sporting career, Russell has played for Mansfield Town, Airdrie and Hamilton Academical for Scotland. Stateside, Russell has enjoyed an incredible career with the Carolina RailHawks and the Orange County Blues. Regarded as one of the most influential coaches of a generation, Russell has become one of the leading voices in the world’s most loved sport.
During Russell’s professional playing career, he has garnered high praise for his time on the pitch. Ahead of signing to the Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock, Russell scored 28 goals in a record-breaking season. This earned Russell the sought out Scottish Football League Second Division Player of the Year Award. While with the Carolina RailHawks, Russell won the 2010 and 2011 NASL League Championships with his team. Celebrated for his stellar performances on the field, Russell went on to Captain the Orange County Blues. It is perhaps with the England team that Russell has had the most impact. As the team’s striker coach, Russell earned high praise for the team’s well-choreographed goal against Panama during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Strategic and tactical, Russell’s coaching skills have injected life into the game.
Russell’s world-class training program, Superior Striker, was launched and established in 2012 in Orange Couty, California. Still going strong today, the program is raising up the next generation of striker stars. As Russel continues to train the England team and revolutionise the sport we see today, he is building a lasting legacy for the future of the sport.
