Amanda Bearse, an accomplished actress, comedian, and director, made her television debut as Amanda Cousins on the ABC daytime soap opera All My Children from 1982 to 1983. Her career progressed with a prominent role as Amy Peterson in the supernatural horror film Fright Night in 1985, which established her in the industry. Following a guest appearance in the ABC series Hotel in 1986, Bearse secured her most recognizable role as Marcy Rhoades D’Arcy in the iconic Fox sitcom Married… with Children, beginning in 1987.
Her performance in Bros marked a significant return to the big screen. In recognition of her impactful contributions as an out LGBTQ entertainer, Bearse was honored with the Out on Film Trailblazer Award in 2021. Further showcasing her versatile talents, she also directed the Off-Broadway production of Isobel Mahon’s comedy Party Face.
