In 1986, after meeting H. W. L. Poonja, Andrew Cohen embarked on his teaching career, founding EnlightenNext.

This organization, initially known as the Impersonal Enlightenment Fellowship and Moksha Foundation, rapidly attracted students, including a significant number from Christopher Titmuss’s circle. Cohen meticulously developed his transformative teachings into ‘Evolutionary Enlightenment,’ a concept that championed an impersonal enlightenment extending beyond mere individual awakening. His burgeoning visibility as a contemporary spiritual figure was further cemented in 1991 with the launch of EnlightenNext magazine, which served as a crucial platform for disseminating his philosophy to a broader international audience. Cohen demonstrated a commitment to integrating his teachings into established academic frameworks.

In 2013, he announced a temporary sabbatical from teaching, embarking on a period of self-reflection concerning his methodologies. This period culminated in 2015 with the issuance of a public apology letter to former students, acknowledging specific elements of his past approach. By 2016, Cohen had indicated his definitive intention to resume formal teaching, signaling a significant and anticipated re-engagement with his dedicated followers and the wider spiritual community. In a pivotal step for his ongoing work, Cohen launched Manifest Nirvana in 2020, an innovative online platform designed to make his evolved teachings accessible globally.

His most recent and significant literary contribution, ‘When Shadow Meets the Bodhisattva’, was published in 2023, offering new insights into his philosophical framework. Andrew Cohen passed away on March 25, 2025, in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, India, leaving behind a substantial body of work in spiritual philosophy and artistic expression.
