Antwone Fisher

Antwone Fisher began his distinguished career with honorable service in the United States Navy for 11 years, during which he traveled globally and earned multiple commendations, including two good conduct medals, before his discharge in 1989 at the rank of E5. Following his military tenure, he worked for three years as a Federal Correctional Officer with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and then joined Sony Pictures Entertainment as a security officer in 1992. It was in 1993 that Fisher authored and sold his autobiographical screenplay, ‘Antwone Fisher,’ to 20th Century Fox, marking his breakthrough into Hollywood. The screenplay was later produced by Fox Searchlight Films and released as the critically acclaimed film ‘Antwone Fisher’ in 2003, earning him the Black Reel Award for Outstanding Screenplay that same year.

He continued his directorial efforts by helming and writing ‘This Life of Mine the Leon T. Garr Story’ in 2012. Currently, Antwone Fisher continues to engage in diverse creative projects as an in-demand director, author, poet, lecturer, college professor, and movie producer. His career is defined by his capacity to translate impactful narratives across various media, solidifying his reputation as a multi-hyphenate talent in the entertainment industry.
