Aquaria, whose real name is Giovanni Lucca Palandrani, was born on February 12, 1996, in West Chester, Pennsylvania. After studying women’s wear design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan, Aquaria began performing in the New York City club scene in 2014, quickly establishing a reputation for high-concept looks and performance art. She rose to international prominence in 2018 as a contestant on the tenth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, where she set multiple broadcast records. Throughout the competition, Aquaria became the first queen in the franchise’s history to win both the ‘Ball’ and the ‘Snatch Game’ challenges in the same season.
In recent years, Aquaria has diversified her portfolio across digital media and television. She received industry recognition in 2020 by winning a Shorty Award for Best in Fashion. She further expanded her filmography in 2021, landing a voice role as the character Nate Silver in the long-running animated series The Simpsons.
