Benjamin Bratt

Benjamin Bratt is an acclaimed actor and producer known for his extensive work in film and television, including his Emmy-nominated role on “Law & Order.” He has demonstrated versatility across genres, from dramas and romantic comedies to animated features, making him a recognizable face across diverse audiences. After joining the cast of the acclaimed NBC drama series ‘Law & Order’ in 1995 as Detective Reynaldo Curtis, a role that earned him international recognition and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 1999, Benjamin Bratt established his reputation for versatility. He remained with the series for four seasons, departing in 1999, and later reprised his iconic role in ‘Exiled: A Law & Order Movie’ (1998) and a guest appearance on ‘Law & Order’ in 2009. His professional career began with the 1988 television film ‘Juarez,’ followed by series like ‘Knightwatch’ and ‘Nasty Boys.’ Early film credits included significant roles as Paco Aguilar in ‘Blood in Blood Out’ (1993) and Officer Alfredo Garcia in ‘Demolition Man’ (1993), alongside supporting appearances in ‘The River Wild’ and ‘Clear and Present Danger’ in 1994.

Through this venture, he produced ‘La Mission’ (2009) and served as Consulting Producer for ‘Dolores’ (2017). His recent work includes co-executive producing ‘Wings of Dust’ in 2023. In recognition of his contributions to the arts, Benjamin Bratt was awarded an honorary doctorate by San Francisco State University in 2024.
