Big Twisty

Dom Littrich, known professionally as Big Twisty, was immersed in music from an early age, stemming from a musical family. This upbringing cultivated his passion for performance and entertainment across various creative outlets. His career trajectory has seen him balance multiple roles, including drummer for the indie rock band Pacific Avenue, MC for Big Twisty & The Funknasty, and a regular comedic presence with The Inspired Unemployed.

Big Twisty & The Funknasty materialized in 2019 following an opportunity for Littrich to rap with a friend’s band at Yours and Owls festival. This experience evolved into a vision for a large-scale funk band, leading to the formation of the 10-person Funknasty collective. The project quickly gained traction, releasing singles such as ‘King Is Back’, ‘Pickup Truck’, and ‘Slave To The Funk’. These releases were supported by successful headline tours across Australia’s east coast, where the band consistently sold out shows. Their live performances are characterized by an energetic and engaging style, designed to create a vibrant and memorable experience for audiences.

Beyond his musical pursuits, Littrich has actively engaged in social initiatives. In September 2021, he participated in the ‘Mullets for Mental Health’ campaign, an initiative supporting the Blackdog Institute. In this role, he raised awareness and funds for mental health research, drawing on his personal experiences with the impact of mental health in his community. This advocacy highlights his commitment to using his platform for broader societal benefit, alongside his continued growth in both the music and comedy industries.
