Brian Orser

Brian Orser is an Olympic silver medalist, World champion figure skater, and acclaimed coach who has guided multiple athletes to Olympic and World titles. After becoming the first man to land a triple axel at the Olympic Games in Sarajevo in 1984, earning him a silver medal, Brian Orser went on to establish himself as a World Champion figure skater and acclaimed coach. His competitive career began with a national junior title in 1979, where he was also the first skater to land a triple axel in junior competition. Transitioning to senior competition, Orser secured his first World Championships silver medal in 1984.

He also guided Jason Brown to a 2020 Four Continents Championships silver, Gabrielle Daleman to a 2017 World Championships bronze, and Elene Gedevanishvili to a 2012 European bronze medal. His mentorship further includes Stephen Gogolev, a JGP Final winner, Evgenia Medvedeva, who secured a 2019 World Championships bronze, and Nam Nguyen, a 2014 World Junior Champion. Orser currently serves as the head instructor at the esteemed Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club, continuing to mentor top international talent.
