The great equestrian Marcus Ehning is a show jumping athlete. He is an Olympic Champion, a World Champion, a 3x World Cup Champion, and a 3x European Champion. He won the 2014 Longines Global Champions Tour of Vienna Grand Prix, and runs his own breeding and riding stables, Sportpferde Ehning.
Born and raised in Germany, Ehning started riding horses when he was seven-years-old. He took part in low-to-medium level shows, and quickly started obtaining impressive results. He moved on to higher level competitions, and reached the top level in 1999 taking Gold at the European Championships for team jumping. He continued to impress in the saddle, and the following year he represented his native Germany at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, taking Gold in team jumping. Since then he has won the World Cup Final three times (2003, 2006, and 2010), taken two more Golds at the European Championships (2003 and 2005) in team jumping, as well as Gold in the 2010 World Championships in team jumping. He also took Gold at the 2010 World Equestrian Games for team jumping. He continues to compete on the World stage, and most recently took a Silver at the 2021 European Championships in team jumping.
