Ceedee Lamb

Cedarian DeLeon “CeeDee” Lamb was born on April 8, 1999, in Opelousas, Louisiana. His early life was marked by a significant move to Houston, Texas, with his family following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He attended John and Randolph Foster High School in Richmond, Texas, where he excelled in high school football. As a junior, he recorded 57 receptions for 1,082 yards and 11 touchdowns. His senior year was even more successful, with 98 receptions for 2,032 yards and 33 receiving touchdowns, achievements that earned him All-State honors and the Houston Touchdown Club’s Offensive Player of the Year. He was highly recruited, receiving offers from major universities before committing to the University of Oklahoma.

Lamb continued his impressive performance in college, playing for the Oklahoma Sooners from 2017 to 2019. During his freshman year in 2017, he played in all 14 games, securing 46 receptions for 807 yards and seven touchdowns, setting school freshman records in receiving yards and tying the record for touchdowns. His sophomore season in 2018 saw him contribute significantly to the Sooners’ 12-2 record and playoff appearance, with 65 catches for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also served as the team’s punt returner. In his junior year, 2019, he was recognized as a first-team All-American, catching 62 passes for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns, leading the team with an average of 21.4 yards per reception. He was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Big 12 Championship. He declared for the NFL draft in December 2019, forgoing his senior year.

He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys as the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Lamb quickly made an impact in the NFL, signing a 4-year, $14.01 million contract. In his rookie season (2020), he recorded 74 receptions for 935 yards and five touchdowns, also contributing with rushing and a 47-yard kick return touchdown. His performance earned him recognition as one of the top rookie wide receivers. In 2021, he continued to grow, achieving his first career 1,000-yard season with 79 receptions for 1,102 yards and six touchdowns, earning his first Pro Bowl selection. The 2022 season saw him further elevate his game with career-highs of 107 receptions, 1,359 yards, and nine touchdowns, resulting in another Pro Bowl selection and a second-team All-Pro nod. His 2023 season was particularly notable, as he became the first player in NFL history with at least 10 catches for over 150 yards in three consecutive games and broke Cowboys franchise records for most receptions and receiving yards in a single season. In 2024, after holding out for a new contract, he signed a four-year, $136 million deal with the Cowboys, securing his future with the team.
