His diverse background provided unique experiences that would later influence his creative projects.
Tatum’s career in entertainment started as a dancer in Ricky Martin’s “She Bangs” music video in 2000. He also found early success as a model, working for notable brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Nautica, Gap, Aeropostale, and Emporio Armani, and appeared in television commercials for American Eagle, Pepsi, and Mountain Dew. His acting debut came in 2005 with a role in the drama “Coach Carter,” followed by appearances in “Havoc” and “Supercross.” His breakthrough roles arrived in 2006 with the sports comedy “She’s the Man” and the dance film “Step Up,” where he met his future wife, Jenna Dewan.

Joe: The Rise of Cobra” (2009) and its sequel “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” (2013), as well as the successful comedy action films “21 Jump Street” (2012) and “22 Jump Street” (2014). He also starred in and produced the highly successful “Magic Mike” series, which was inspired by his early experiences as a stripper.
