Charlotte Flair

Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr, known professionally as Charlotte Flair, was born on April 5, 1986, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The daughter of wrestling icon Ric Flair, she engaged in athletics from an early age, excelling in volleyball. She led Providence High School to two NCHSAA 4A-State championships, earning team captain and player of the year honors in 2004–2005. Flair continued her volleyball career at Appalachian State University before transferring to North Carolina State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in public relations in 2008. Before embarking on her wrestling career, she was a certified personal trainer, demonstrating her foundational commitment to physical fitness and professional development.

Flair’s professional wrestling journey began in 2012 when she signed a developmental contract with WWE, initially training under Lodi and later Sara Del Rey at NXT. Her televised debut in NXT in 2013 marked the beginning of a rapid ascent. By 2014, she was recognized as “Rookie of the Year” by Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) and secured her first championship, the NXT Women’s Championship. Her main roster debut in 2015 initiated a period of significant achievement, including holding the WWE Divas Championship, becoming the inaugural WWE Raw Women’s Champion, and subsequently winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship multiple times. Her career has been marked by pioneering achievements, such as headlining a WWE pay-per-view event alongside Sasha Banks in 2016 and participating in the first-ever women’s WrestleMania main event in 2019.

Throughout her career, Flair has accumulated numerous accolades, including 14 women’s world championships, making her one of the most decorated female wrestlers in WWE history. She is a two-time Royal Rumble winner, the fifth Women’s Triple Crown Champion, and the fourth Women’s Grand Slam Champion. Beyond wrestling, Flair has extended her reach into media, appearing in “Psych: The Movie” (2017) and “Punky Brewster” (2021). She has also been featured in “Muscle & Fitness” (2016) and “ESPN Body 10” (2018), and co-authored a biography, “Second Nature: The Legacy of Ric Flair and the Rise of Charlotte,” in 2017. These diverse endeavors underscore her influence both within and outside the wrestling world.
