About

Christian Del Bianco, born on August 31, 1997, in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, embarked on his professional lacrosse career after being drafted 15th overall in the 2015 NLL Entry Draft by the Calgary Roughnecks. He quickly established himself as a prominent goaltender in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). His early years with the Calgary Roughnecks included steady development, leading to significant playing time and an NLL All-League 2nd Team selection in 2019. In the 2023 NLL season, he was named the NLL Goalie of the Year and the NLL MVP. During this season, he set a league record for the most minutes played by a goaltender, totaling 1,080:19 minutes, and contributed to the Roughnecks achieving their highest win total in club history. He is only the second goaltender in NLL history to win the MVP award, following Steve Dietrich in 2006.

Throughout his tenure with the Calgary Roughnecks from 2016 to 2024, Del Bianco demonstrated consistent performance. Over 101 regular season games with Calgary, he accumulated 45 wins and 35 losses, with a career save percentage of .788 and a goals against average of 10.70. His playoff statistics with Calgary also highlight his impactful play, including a 4-0 record in the 2019 playoffs where he maintained an 8.71 GAA and a .838 save percentage. In 2024, he also achieved a World Lacrosse Box Championships winner medal while representing Canada.

A significant turning point in his career occurred on March 10, 2025, when he was traded to the Vancouver Warriors. This move followed his public announcement in July 2024 about not re-signing with Calgary to pursue off-floor endeavors and a desire to play in Vancouver, his hometown. Despite initial contract disputes and being franchise-tagged by Calgary, the trade finalized his move to the Vancouver Warriors, where he now serves as the franchise goaltender. His career progression is marked by continuous high-level performance and a dedicated approach to the sport, solidifying his reputation as a key player in professional lacrosse.
