Christina Black is a Canadian curler known for her consistent performances at provincial and national championships, demonstrating leadership as a skip and dedication to her sport. After representing Nova Scotia as a finalist at the 2013 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship, Christina Black rapidly established herself as a formidable force in Canadian curling. She joined Team Mary-Anne Arsenault as a third for the 201415 season, where the rink quickly secured victories at the Dave Jones Molson Mayflower Cashspiel and the Gibson’s Cashspiel. This successful season culminated in Black’s first appearance at the prestigious 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, following a win at the 2015 Nova Scotia Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
Continuing her strong performance with the Arsenault rink, Black earned a bronze medal at the 2018 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Penticton, further bolstered by a victory at the 2018 Nova Scotia Scotties Tournament of Hearts and the 2018 New Scotland Clothing Ladies Cashspiel. Black further ascended in the sport, winning the 2019 Curling Store Cashspiel before taking on a leadership role by forming her own team as skip in 2020. This new rink quickly found success, securing the 2020 Curling Store Cashspiel title despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The 202122 season marked a significant milestone, with Team Black winning both The Curling Store Cashspiel and the Tim Hortons Spitfire Arms Cash Spiel.
Beyond her curling achievements, Black is also a dedicated professional, holding the role of SSI Supervision Specialist for Scotiabank, a testament to her ability to balance an demanding athletic career with significant professional responsibilities. She is an esteemed alumnus of Saint Mary’s University and is based out of the Halifax Curling Club.
