Christine Allado, born Christine Marie Allado on July 15, 1995, in Manila, Philippines, is a Filipina-British actress and singer. Her early career began in the Philippines, where she participated in Playshop school theatre workshops and performed in productions such as “Hairspray” (2008), “The Phantom of the Opera: Revue” (2009), and “Joseph the Dreamer” (2009). At the age of 18, Allado moved to Hong Kong, where she continued her performing career, taking on leading roles at Hong Kong Disneyland in productions like “The Golden Mickeys” (2010) and “Disney’s High School Musical” (2009). She later relocated to London, United Kingdom, to pursue training in musical theatre at the Royal Academy of Music, further developing her vocal and acting skills.
Allado’s career progressed in London with her West End debut in Tim Rice’s “From Here To Eternity” at the Shaftesbury Theatre in 2013, where she played Minerva and understudied the lead role of Lorene. In 2014, she appeared in “Here Lies Love,” a production by Fat Boy Slim and David Byrne that transferred from New York to the National Theatre in London, and performed as Ursula in “Sweet Charity” at the Royal Exchange Theatre. A significant milestone in her career was her appearance on “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2016 as part of the four-member girl band Zyrah, which led to four No.1 singles on the iTunes charts. That same year, she took on the role of Vanessa in the Olivier-winning production of “In the Heights” at the King’s Cross Theatre, and performed with Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli at the Mall of Asia Arena in the Philippines.
In 2017, Allado achieved international recognition with her role as Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds in the original London production of “Hamilton: An American Musical” at the Victoria Palace Theatre. She also occasionally covered the role of Eliza Hamilton. Her work continued with the lead role of Tzipporah in “The Prince of Egypt” musical at the Dominion Theatre in 2020, for which she received a Grammy Award nomination in the Best Musical Album category for the original recording. More recently, she played Meat in “We Will Rock You” at the London Coliseum in 2023 and joined Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga in “Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends” at the Gielgud Theatre. In 2024, she starred as Julie Jordan in a concert production of “Carousel” at the Royal Festival Hall and is scheduled to perform in “Disney in Concert” at the Sydney Opera House in 2025, alongside playing Esmeralda in the UK premiere concert of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” at the Prince Edward Theatre. In September 2025, Allado will star as Rachel Marron in the Philippine production of “The Bodyguard: The Musical” at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell.
