The amazing equestrian Daniel “the Double D” Deußer is a show jumping athlete. He is an Olympic medalist, a World Cup Champion, and a 3x European Championships Silver medalist.
Born and raised in Germany, Deußer began riding at a young age. His horse riding career really took off when he was 21-years-old as part of Team Germany at the 2002 European Young Riders Championships when he came 4th in the team jumping. His individual jumping kept on improving as well, and he claimed a Silver medal at the 2007 World Cup in Las Vegas. He then claimed his first team jumping medal when he won Silver at the 2013 European Championships.
The following year Deußer took his first Gold medal, when he won the individual jumping event at the World Cup in Lyon. He took another team jumping Silver at the 2015 European Championships, and then a Bronze at the 2016 World Cup in individual jumping. He travelled to the 2016 Rio Olympics, and won Gold in the team jumping event for his native Germany. In 2019 he took his third European Championships Silver medal in team jumping, and in 2020 he won the Longines Global Champions Tour.
