Daniel Deußer

Daniel Deußer is an Olympic bronze medalist in equestrian show jumping, widely recognized for his consistent performance and multiple Grand Prix victories. After winning the individual jumping gold medal at the 2014 FEI World Cup Finals in Lyon with Cornet d’Amour, Daniel Deußer established himself as a leading figure in international equestrian show jumping. His career progression began significantly earlier, representing Germany at the Young Rider European Championships in 2002. Deußer went on to achieve a silver medal at the World Cup Final in 2007 with Air Jordan Z, demonstrating his early prowess.

He secured a Team silver medal at the European Championships in 2013, riding Cornet d’Amour, and later that year achieved 4th in Team and 6th in Individual categories at the World Equestrian Games, also with Cornet d’Amour. Building on his successes, Deußer earned another Team silver medal at the European Championships in 2015, partnered again with Cornet d’Amour. He secured a bronze medal at the World Cup Final in 2016 with Cornet d’Amour, followed by an Olympic Team bronze medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics, riding First Class van Eeckelghem. His consistent performance continued with an 8th place finish at the World Cup Final in 2018 with Cornet d’Amour, and a 4th place at the World Cup Final in 2019 with Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z.

Recognized as an Olympic bronze medalist, Daniel Deußer continues to maintain a position among the world’s elite riders, known for his ability to develop strong partnerships with his horses and for his nickname ‘Double D.’ His continued involvement and success in high-level competitions underscore his enduring commitment and expertise in show jumping, reflecting both individual athletic prowess and the importance of effective horse-rider partnerships on the global stage.
