Dave Jageler is an American baseball broadcaster, recognized for his play-by-play commentary with the Washington Nationals and his contributions to national sports broadcasts. After establishing himself as a prominent voice in collegiate and minor league sports, Dave Jageler went on to become the acclaimed radio play-by-play announcer for the Washington Nationals, leading coverage for some of the team’s most historic moments. Jageler launched his broadcasting career at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, providing play-by-play for Syracuse football and basketball games on WAER, and Triple-A baseball for the Syracuse Chiefs on Time Warner Cable and the Empire Sports Network.

This extensive background paved the way for his pivotal role with the Washington Nationals, where he joined in 2006, forming a celebrated, long-standing radio play-by-play duo with Charlie Slowes. With the Nationals, Jageler has been at the microphone for defining moments, including their historic 2019 World Series championship, four National League East championships, three no-hitters, and Max Scherzer’s MLB record-tying 20-strikeout performance. Demonstrating remarkable dedication, he called 2,016 consecutive Nationals regular-season games from Opening Day in 2006 until May 31, 2018. He has also served as the studio host for Westwood One’s NHL Game of the Week and contributed to various college football networks, including Florida State and Texas Longhorns, where he also provided fill-in play-by-play.
