David Bedingham

David Bedingham has established himself as a prominent cricketer, representing South Africa internationally and playing for county teams. He is recognized for his powerful batting and contributions to various cricketing formats. After commencing his first-class cricket career with Northerns in the 2012–13 CSA Provincial Three-Day Competition on March 14, 2013, David Bedingham quickly established himself as a formidable batsman. He demonstrated consistent performance, becoming the leading run-scorer for Boland during the 2017–18 season in two distinct competitions: the CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge, where he amassed 283 runs in seven matches, and the Sunfoil 3-Day Cup, recording an impressive 790 runs across eight matches.

This prolific period also saw him join the Birmingham Phoenix for the inaugural The Hundred tournament in 2021, where he consistently contributed with his powerful middle-order batting. David Bedingham made his highly anticipated international debut for South Africa during the 2023/24 two-match Test series against India. In his very first Test match at Centurion, he showcased his capabilities by scoring his maiden Test half-century, contributing 56 runs off 87 balls. He further solidified his international presence representing South Africa in a Test series against New Zealand in 2024, where he achieved another significant milestone: his maiden Test century, scoring an impressive 110 runs off 141 balls in the second Test.

Bedingham’s impact on the international stage continued as he became a crucial member of the South African team that clinched the 2025 ICC World Test Championship final. His exceptional form and consistent contributions throughout 2024 were further honored when he was named in the prestigious PCA Men’s Team of the Year, recognizing his standing as one of the sport’s elite performers.
