Dean-Charles Chapman

Dean-Charles Chapman was born on September 7, 1997, in Havering, Essex, England. His acting career began at a young age, leading him to significant early roles on the London West End. At eight years old, Chapman was cast in “Billy Elliot the Musical” as ‘Small Boy’. He later advanced to play Michael and eventually the titular character, Billy Elliot. He holds the distinction of being the second longest-serving cast member in the production overall, and the longest-serving actor to portray Billy Elliot.

Chapman transitioned to television and film, gaining recognition for his performance as Martyn Lannister in the third season of HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” He later took on the more prominent role of Tommen Baratheon, appearing in the fourth, fifth, and sixth seasons of the series (2014-2016). His film debut was in “Before I Go to Sleep” (2014), where he acted alongside Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth. A significant career milestone came with his co-leading role as Lance Corporal Blake in Sam Mendes’s critically acclaimed war film “1917” (2019). He also appeared in “The King” (2019) as Thomas of Lancaster and portrayed Matt in “Blinded by the Light” (2019). More recently, he was seen as Jack Renshaw in the TV mini-series “The Walk-In” (2022) and contributed voice work to the animated feature “Ozi: Voice of the Forest” (2023). His recent television work includes ‘Torbin’ in “The Acolyte” (2024), and he is set to appear as ‘Gaz’ in “Too Much” (2025).
