Deshea Townsend is a distinguished former professional cornerback and current Football coach, renowned for his impactful career in the NFL. He began his journey at the University of Alabama, where he excelled as a defensive back, earning All-SEC honors multiple times. His impressive college performance led to his selection by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 1998 NFL Draft, where he would spend the majority of his playing career. During his tenure with the Steelers, Townsend contributed significantly to the team’s success, helping secure two Super Bowl championships (XL and XLIII) and amassing 21 interceptions and 449 tackles over his career.

After retiring from professional play, Townsend transitioned into coaching, where he has continued to make a substantial impact. His coaching career began with the Arizona Cardinals as an assistant defensive backs coach, where he honed his skills in developing young talent.
