Dev Patel has transitioned from a teen drama actor to an Academy Award-nominated performer, filmmaker, and producer, known for his versatile roles and impactful storytelling. After his breakthrough role as Jamal Malik in Danny Boyle’s Oscar-winning film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ (2008), Dev Patel garnered significant industry recognition, including a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor, a British Independent Film Award, and a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Young Performer. Prior to this, Patel’s professional acting career began with the E4 teen drama series ‘Skins’ (2007-2008), where he portrayed Anwar Kharral for two seasons. Demonstrating early discipline, he also earned a 1st dan black belt in Taekwondo in 2006.
