Dohnovan West was born on May 19, 2001, in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in Mission Hills, California. He attended Bishop Alemany High School, where he began his football career. West continued his collegiate football journey at Arizona State University, where he played for three seasons. In 2023, West continued his professional career when he was selected by the Vegas Vipers in the 2023 XFL Draft. He played in all 10 games for the Vegas Vipers that season, starting in seven of them. The Vegas Vipers later folded following the merger of the XFL and USFL to form the United Football League (UFL).
