Drea de Matteo

Drea de Matteo is an Emmy Award-winning American actress recognized for her compelling roles across television and film. After her breakthrough role as Adriana La Cerva in the HBO series ‘The Sopranos,’ which premiered in 1999, Drea de Matteo went on to earn widespread critical acclaim and an Emmy Award. Initially cast for a single episode, de Matteo’s compelling portrayal led to an expanded, series-regular role, culminating in a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2004 and a Golden Globe Award nomination in the same year. Prior to this, she made her screen debut in an independent film and held a small part in ‘Meet Prince Charming’ (1999), also starring in films such as Abel Ferrara’s ”R Xmas’ (2001) and ‘Prey for Rock & Roll’ (2003).

She then took on the role of Detective Tess Nazario in NBC’s crime drama ‘Shades of Blue,’ appearing across three seasons from 2016 to 2018. Her later work included a recurring role as Barbara Morgan in the ABC drama ‘A Million Little Things’ in 2019. Beyond her acting, de Matteo also co-founded ‘Filth Mart,’ a rock and roll vintage clothing store, and has explored various podcasting ventures. Most recently, de Matteo was a main cast member as Maya in the 2021 series ‘Paradise City.’ She is set to appear as Melissa in the critically acclaimed Starz series ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ in 2024 and has an upcoming role as Stella in the highly anticipated film ‘Nonnas,’ slated for release in 2025.
