David Dodd McDonald, often known as East Side Dave and Davey Mac, is a radio personality in the United States. On WRAT 95.9 FM, he co-hosts the Morning Rat Race with Carl and Dave. He also broadcasts “The East Side Dave Show,” an internet video program. This program is part of the compoundmedia.com platform, which is available for a price. McDonald was also a former on-air producer for Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s The Ron and Fez Show, where he previously aired The Davey Mac Sports Program XL.

McDonald grew up in New Jersey after being born in California. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications with a focus on radio and television from Monmouth University. McDonald was hired as a producer for Ron and Fez and SiriusXM Satellite Radio after working overnights on-air for radio stations such as WBJB-FM. Dave was also the host of SiriusXM’s Davey Mac Sports Program. He’s also worked for 92.3 K-Rock, Westwood One Radio, and WRAT, 95.9 FM, among others.

McDonald wrote several hilarious articles for the websites RealityGeek.com and BigBrotherGossip.com on a professional basis. As the voice of “Smithy the Stunt Boy” in Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City and “Perry Rose” in Red Dead Redemption, he has done voice-over work for two Rockstar video games. McDonald occasionally performs stand-up comedy, billed as the “World’s Worst Comedian” at the New York Comedy Festival. He’s performed alongside Jim Norton, Bob Kelly, Colin Quinn, and Rich Vos, to name a few.
