Emma Entzminger plays infield for the women’s national softball team of Canada. At San Jose State University in the United States, Entzminger played softball in college. Entzminger was initially named to the Canada national team in 2015, and she later participated with the group at the 2018 Women’s Softball World Championship. Entzminger then helped Canada win two more international medals, including bronze at the 2020 Summer Olympics and silver in softball at the 2019 Pan American Games.
Entzminger attended Lambrick Park Secondary School in Victoria, British Columbia, where he was born, graduating in 2014. Entzminger participated in basketball, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball at Lambrick Park. She played softball for the San Jose State Spartans from 2015 to 2018 while attending San Jose State University in the American city of San Jose, California, after finishing high school. Entzminger played 206 games over four seasons, mostly starting at shortstop in 2018 and third base in 2016 and 2017. Entzminger batted .324 in 2016, a career high, and .269 as a senior in 2018. She earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from San Jose State in 2018 with a focus in exercise and rehabilitation science.
Entzminger participated in the 2015 Pan American Games after first being selected for the women’s national softball team of Canada. In order to participate in three competitions, including the 2018 Women’s Softball World Championship, Entzminger rejoined the Canadian national team in 2018. At the Pan American Games in Lima in 2019, Entzminger participated and took home silver. She was selected for Canada’s 2020 Olympic team.
