Janet Leung

Janet Leung cemented her status as a formidable athlete on the international stage, securing a bronze medal for Canada at the 2018 WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship in Chiba, Japan. Her distinguished career with Team Canada began in 2013 with her first appearance as part of the Junior Women’s National Team at the WBSC Junior Women’s World Championships. Following rigorous national team selection camps in 2014 and 2015, Leung made her impactful debut with the Senior National Team in 2016 at the Japan Cup. During this foundational period, Leung simultaneously excelled in her collegiate career at Brown University, playing four seasons and starting all 151 games.

She concluded her tenure at Brown in 2016, achieving a ranking of third all-time in at-bats with 493 and fifth in doubles with 35, while maintaining an impressive .304 batting average, accumulating 150 hits, 35 doubles, 79 runs, and 52 RBIs, consistently earning All-Ivy honors in each of her four years. Leung continued to elevate her international profile in 2019, earning a silver medal at her inaugural Pan American Games in Lima. This was swiftly followed by a pivotal role in Canada’s successful qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. At the critical WBSC Americas Olympic Qualifier in Surrey, B.C., Leung demonstrated her offensive prowess by recording six hits and driving in six runs, a performance essential in securing Canada’s coveted spot among the elite global teams.

She graduated from Brown University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts, concentrating in Business Entrepreneurship – Biotechnology, providing her with a unique blend of strategic and analytical skills. Leveraging her deep understanding of professional athletics and business acumen, Leung has expressed a keen interest in pursuing opportunities in marketing within the dynamic sporting goods industry, where she aims to translate her firsthand experience into impactful professional endeavors.
