Sydney Romero

Sydney Romero is an accomplished softball player and coach, transitioning from an NCAA championship athlete to a professional player and collegiate coach, sharing her expertise and leadership within the sport. After leading the University of Oklahoma to back-to-back national championships in the Women’s College World Series in 2016 and 2017, Sydney Romero established herself as a foundational player in collegiate softball. During her tenure from 2016 to 2019, Romero contributed to four consecutive WCWS appearances and earned numerous individual accolades, including NFCA First Team All-American selections in both 2018 and 2019. Her exceptional performance culminated in being named the Big 12 Player of the Year and a USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 3 Finalist in 2019.

She served as a student assistant for her alma mater, the Oklahoma Sooners, from 2020 to 2022, leveraging her championship experience to guide future athletes. In 2023, she transitioned to an assistant coach position for the Duke Blue Devils, further expanding her coaching portfolio at a Division I program. Currently, Romero utilizes her extensive expertise and leadership as an assistant coach for the Oregon Ducks softball program, where she continues to develop and mentor new generations of athletes, fostering both their athletic capabilities and strategic understanding of the game. Her comprehensive engagement with softball, encompassing elite-level play and dedicated coaching, highlights her commitment to advancing the sport and demonstrates a full-circle dedication to excellence within the industry.
