Eureka O’Hara

Eureka D. Huggard, known professionally as Eureka O’Hara, was born on August 26, 1990, in Bristol, Tennessee. She began her drag career at the club New Beginnings. Her stage name, Eureka, is phonetically linked to her mother’s name, Ulrike, and O’Hara is derived from Scarlett O’Hara, a character in “Gone with the Wind.” Prior to her television debut, Eureka was active in the drag pageantry system and had to withdraw from East Tennessee State University to compete on RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Eureka rose to prominence through her participation in the ninth and tenth seasons of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” In the ninth season, she was forced to exit due to a knee injury, marking a first for the show. She was subsequently invited to return for the tenth season, where she achieved a runner-up position. Her career expanded with co-hosting the HBO series “We’re Here” from 2020 to 2022, which garnered critical acclaim. In 2021, she competed in the sixth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars,” again reaching the runner-up position, and in 2024, she participated in the second season of “Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs. the World,” where she was awarded Miss Congeniality.

Beyond reality television, Eureka has released music, including singles “Stomp” (2017) and “The Big Girl” (2018), and collaborated on other tracks. She has also made guest appearances in various web series and television shows, such as “American Horror Story: Double Feature” and “Love, Victor.” Eureka is a vocal advocate for body positivity and identifies as a trans woman, having embraced her gender identity after a period of detransitioning. Her career reflects a progression from regional drag pageantry to national and international television exposure, music releases, and advocacy within the LGBTQ+ community.
