Team spirit exudes from Brazillian native Fernanda Alves. Silver medallist from the 2015 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, and future Olympian hopeful, Alves is at home on the volleyball court. Lifting the Beach Volleyball Major Series Champion Trophy at the 2018 Fort Lauderdale, Florida was a career-high with partner Barbara Seixas. Debuting together in the 2016-2017 Brazillian National Tour, Alves and her teammate have become acclaimed opponents to face on the court ever since.
Facing down the competition on the court has been a long term passion for Alves. Playing on the Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro, metres away from where the prestigious 2016 Olympics would be held, Alves aspired to be a future Olympian. Shaping her future to fulfil her dream has taken Alves on a thrilling ride. Pursuing her Champion-status goals, Alves and Seixas come as a dynamic duo. Training under legendary coach Ricardo de Frietas has fueled Alves discipline on the pitch.
With an exceptional team effort at the 2019 ANOC World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar, Alves brought a memorable performance to the court. With the duo bringing home the silver prize from the tournament, the fun, energy and sportsmanship Alves gave in that match made for an exciting game and gave 4×4 beach volleyball the attention needed. Positivity, desire and passion are a well-served formula in Alves’ games and make her an impressive athlete to watch.
